Jon is a partner with Diamond, Polsky & Bauer where he concentrates in estate planning, estate administration, tax planning, and business law.
The focus of Jon’s practice is working with individuals and families with estate planning, including structuring family businesses, to accomplish the dual objective of proper succession planning and reduction of death taxes. In addition, Jon has represented both individuals and business regarding a variety of income tax issues, including IRS audits and tax controversies… and has co-authored the Bureau of National Affairs Tax Management Portfolio on IRS tax liens.
Jon is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and is admitted to practice and has tried cases before the United States Tax Court and the United State Claims Court.
He is a Co-Chair of the Tax Committee and a member of the Executive Committee of the Probate Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and serves as a liaison between the Probate Section and the Tax Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Jon is a member and former President of the Delaware County Estate Planning Council, has served three terms as the President of the Delaware County Attorney/CPA Forum and is a past Secretary/Treasurer of the Tax Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
Jon is a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania (magna cum laude,1974) and The University of Pennsylvania Law School (1978). Mr. Sokoloff received the degree of Master of Laws in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 1980.
